Our Sixth Form is open to all students and offers great facilities and equipment including specialist classrooms, laboratories, dedicated study areas with laptops and a well-furnished reading room.

Our experienced subject specialists deliver high-quality teaching and offer unrivalled support that helps students to achieve excellent results.

Our Sixth Form students are the heartbeat of our school and play a vital role in the community, outside of academic study students pursue a varied range of activities and enjoy regular trips to supplement learning. Check to see if you are eligible for a bursary.

Activities and trips – including the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Young Enterprise, Parents’ Association Challenge Awards, World Challenge, Operation Wallacea, sport, music, drama, public speaking, the speaking newspaper and much more. There are numerous theatre visits and trips abroad which previously included ski trips, geology trips to Iceland and Italy, modern language exchange trips and art department visits to Barcelona.

Leadership roles and responsibility – the Sixth Form Committee and the Sixth Form Social Committee deals with issues covering all aspects of school life and feeds into the School Council. The Sixth Form Social Committee organises social activities for the Sixth Form including the end of year Upper Sixth Leavers’ Ball and the Sixth Form Yearbook. The Upper Sixth also play an essential and valuable leadership role such as Duty Prefects, Form Prefects, Peer Listeners and subject mentors. All Upper Sixth students are expected to take on at least one position of responsibility.

Courses – there are many courses available to Sixth Form students including art & design, biology, business studies, chemistry, computer science, drama, economics, English language, English literature, film studies, French, mathematics, geography, geology, German, history, music, physics, product design, psychology, religious studies and Spanish.
