Year 8 suffer penalty heartbreak!

Our Year 8 football were knocked out of the county cup on Tuesday evening by Priory Ruskin Academy, losing 9-8 on penalties.
The QEGS team led 1-0 for most of the game, courtesy of a well made goal scored by Sonny Joliffe and played some excellent football. Priory Ruskin equalised late in the 2nd half, then with the score at 4-4 after 5 penalties each, it was down to sudden death, with QEGS sadly losing out.
All of the team can hold their heads high after a great game of football by both teams. Mr Wilkinson was very proud of the teams effort! Special thanks to Harry Masters and Charlie Courtney for their excellent officiating.
