Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School Horncastle

Y7&Y8 Girls Football Tournament

Match Report:

The Y7&8 girls were in action again in the local football tournament hosted by QEGS Horncastle.

Under the leadership of sixth form student, Grace, the girls played fantastically well throughout the tournament and emerged from the league unbeaten with two wins and two draws.

The team came up against a very strong KEVIGS side in the semi-final and unfortunately conceded one goal. However the playoff match for 3rd and 4th place proved exciting and a local derby between Banovallum and QEGS resulted in a nail biting penalty shootout, with QEGS emerging as winners, leaving them in 3rd place overall (out of 9 teams).

A special thank you and mention must be made for our outstanding team leader and manager Grace and our sixth form officials: Dylan, Miles, Jamie and Lewis. All of the sixth form helpers for the event did an incredible job in the organisation and delivery of this fantastic tournament. We simply couldn't have done it without them. They all did QEGS proud, what role models they are. Well done to all players and helpers, and thank you.
