Y13 Girls against William Farr School

The U16 Girls Football Team were in action in the County Cup against William Farr School in Lincoln on Friday 4th February emerging champions with an 8-4 win. Captain Emma Eastham, led by example and had a fantastic influence on the game and the team as a whole, netting seven goals and assisting another, whilst creating many goal scoring opportunities.

Gabby was unbeatable on the left wing, scoring a wonderful goal in the process. The back four proved to be formidable opponents, making it very difficult for William Farr to score. The pace of the midfield players (Jess, Eve and Matilda) resulted in QEGS winning the ball back often. With Anna sending some accurate passes through to the upfront players to create more goal scoring opportunities. The girls as a team did incredibly well, showed fantastic teamwork and resilience. Throughout the game, the girls supported each other and communicated well. Well done to all that were involved!

We are now through to the semi-finals and are waiting for the date and opponents to be confirmed.
