Y13 Geography trip to Lincoln University

Lincoln Geographical Association - Schools' Conference 2025
A-Level geography students in Year 13 enjoyed the annual schools' conference hosted by Lincoln University and organised by the Lincoln branch of the Geographical Association. The event took place on Wednesday 17th September.
Various academics from the school of Geography at the University provided lectures during the day, including;
  • Cryosphere in Crisis: Snow and Ice as Planetary Health Indicators
  • Working with Water: including the use of drones in high resolution surveys
  • The Politics of Nature: More than just the Environment
Students were able to visit different parts of the campus and were given an overview of studying Geography at University, from both current undergraduate students and academics from the University. The event took place in the Isaac Newton building (pictured) which provided the opportunity to experience learning in a large lecture-hall setting.
The day ended with an interesting debate about the effectiveness of global organisations in tackling climate change - providing a number of different perspectives, showcasing the multidisciplinary approach of the subject of geography.
