Y13 Boys Football Against JB Sports

The Y13 boys were in action in a friendly match against JB Sports on Wednesday 16th March. JB Sports hosted the game at Horncastle Football Club, a last minute fixture which the boys were very excited to play. The match marked the last opportunity for the boys to represent the school and their last school football match during their time at QEGS.

As a result, the QEGS team were determined to put on a show and that they did! For some of the team, it was their first and last game, however, each member of the team made their presence felt and contributed to the performance as a whole. The boys demonstrated some good attacking in the final third, with some great through balls resulting in QEGS taking an early lead before finishing the first half 2-1 ahead.

After a change of formation in the second half to a 4-4-2 formation, QEGS really dominated the game, with great defensive display under pressure after switching from the 3-back to a 4-back, resulting in the few chances that JB had in the second half being dealt with easily. Despite the torrential rain during the second half, QEGS dominated the game, showing their fitness and despite a couple of players suffering cramp, finished the game 6-3 winners!
