Sixth Form Students Support Local Primary School Sports Day 2025

On Friday 11th July, fourteen Sixth Form students from QEGS supported Horncastle Primary School with their annual sports day. Throughout the day, the students played a key role in helping staff to set up events, score races, assist with activities, and tidy up afterwards.

Their involvement went beyond logistics, they also acted as positive role models for the younger pupils, encouraging participation and demonstrating excellent leadership and teamwork.

Despite the exceptionally hot weather, the Sixth Form students represented QEGS with pride and maturity. Their contribution was greatly appreciated by the staff at Horncastle Primary and reflected the strong sense of community and responsibility that QEGS strives to promote.

Sixth Form volunteer Ollie Jones commented, “I think it was useful for developing leadership skills and a great experience ahead of my sports leadership course next year. I really enjoyed the day and helping out.”

We are incredibly proud of our Sixth Form students for their commitment, both within school and in the wider community. Well done to everyone who took part.
