Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School Horncastle

Ex-student is now a British Champion!

Sadly, Riley McElnea (Y9) left QEGS at Christmas due to her sporting commitments and to further enhance her chances of becoming a professional tennis player. Since leaving QEGS, Riley has been following her dream and travelling around the world to play in various tennis competitions.

At the beginning of July, Riley had a huge result as she won the u14 girls National competition which was hosted in Edinburgh, which means she is now a British Champion!

The tennis level was incredible but more importantly she conducted herself so well, composed and super strong minded on court.

As a school, we are so proud of what Riley is achieving post QEGS. It couldn't happen to a nicer, more modest student than herself. All her hard work and dedication is clearly paying off. We continue to wish Riley all the best for the future and we look forward to hearing about more of her successes in the future. What an inspiration she is to our students. Well done Riley!
