Boys District Rounders Tournaments 2025

On Wednesday 25th June, QEGS hosted the annual Y8 and Y10 boys Coastal and Wolds District Rounders Tournament. QEGS had a team representing each year group, however they could’ve had more due to the amount of talented rounders players we have in Y8 and Y10.

It was a very successful evening for both QEGS teams. The Year 8 boys comfortably beat teams from QEGS Alford, John Spendluffe, Banovallum and Barnes Wallis to become Coastal and Wolds’s champions.  Excellent performances by all players in the team in hot and humid conditions.

The Y10 team didn’t get off to the best of starts, losing convincingly to QEGS Alford. However, from this point on the team upped their game by batting and fielding extremely well against John Spendluffe and KEVIS Spilsby. The team finished 2nd in the league, which meant they played 3rd place John Spendluffe in the semi-final. QEGS grew in confidence in every game, and comfortably won to go through to the final. In the final they played QEGS Alford, where the team wanted to rectify their mistakes from their earlier encounter. QEGS fielded first and were excellent, only giving away 1 ½ rounders from 21 balls. QEGS needed 2 rounders to win the tournament, and they did just that within 4 balls! Revenge was sweet.
