Mr S Furness

Headteacher

On Friday 1st February Year 8 students had the chance to experience what life was like during the English Civil War. The day was led by Colonel Thomas who explained to the students the causes of the war, everyday life, weaponry and tactics. The students were able to hold flags, wear uniforms and helmets, taste examples of Civil War food and they marched into battle to the beat of a drum. The highlight of the day was the demonstration on the school field of the thunderous firing of the cannon and musket. A superb day!
