Entry to Sixth Form
There are over 200 Sixth Form students at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School, many of whom have progressed from Year 11 but also a significant number of students who have joined from other schools.
All our students follow a full A Level course studying at least three A Level subjects. New Sixth Form students must be able to demonstrate that they are capable of higher-level study meaning you need a minimum of four GCSE passes at grade 6 plus a further two at grade 4 (including maths and English).
All potential Sixth Form students must complete the application form below and are invited to attend the Sixth Form Open Evening on Wednesday 5th October, 6.30pm – 8.30pm.
You can find more information about the Open Evening here: Our Open Evening
Please note that 22nd February is the last date for unrestricted subject choices. After this point, any changes to A Level choices must be made by completing a ‘Request for Course Change’ – please email email@example.com if you require this form. Any offers of provisional places would normally be made towards the end of the spring term.
All prospective Sixth Form students are expected to attend our Sixth Form Induction Week, after GCSEs have finished.
You can also take a look at our Admissions Policy for more details:
Application afternoons are a chance for prospective students from other schools to visit the Sixth Form in normal school time. Parents are welcome to attend. Existing Sixth Form will act as tour guides and you will have the opportunity to talk to a member of the senior staff who will give you advice on Sixth Form courses and alternatives.
For September 2023 entry, Application Afternoons from 2pm to 3pm will be held on the following dates:
- Monday 14th November 2022
- Monday 12th December 2022
- Monday 9th January 2023
- Monday 23rd January 2023
