Information Evening - Wednesday 1st 

As part of the preparation for supporting students to transition successfully to the Sixth Form, members of Year 11 are invited, with their parents / carers, to attend the Sixth Form Information Evening on Wednesday 1^st November at 6.00 pm. This invitation is also extended to those students in other schools who are considering QEGS as a Sixth Form option for next year.

As a sixth form within a school, our sixth form students have unique opportunities to embrace and contribute to the life of Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School (QEGS); both through their learning and by taking part in an extensive range of enrichment and leadership activities.

In August, we celebrated another year of successful results at GCSE and A Level. This high performance reflects the continuing dedication of our teachers, our pastoral support and our strong partnerships with parents to enable every student to achieve their very best both academically and socially and to support transition to successful futures.

The evening offers an opportunity for you to find out more about the current nature of A-levels, including their implications for university entrance and how A-level choices can support your child’s next steps. There will be an initial introduction to the event in the main hall at 6pm, followed by a rolling programme of short subject presentations by Subject Leaders which provide an opportunity to find out more about what each A-level actually involves. In particular, this provides students with an opportunity to find out more about those subjects that they may not have encountered before. Senior staff will also be available throughout the evening to help with any careers-related queries. 

There will also be staff and students available throughout the evening to talk to you about enrichment opportunities, Oxbridge and the early entry process, and the leadership opportunities that we have to offer as well as answering more general questions about life in the sixth form.
