University Of Sheffield - GCSE & A Level Visit

On Wednesday 12th October our GCSE and A level music students visited the University of Sheffield.  The students were greeted with tea, coffee and biscuits and given a presentation on the wide variety of music courses available.

During the day, students attended two university-style seminars, looking at 'working with music' (collaboration in recorded & live music) and a session on music psychology, providing useful advice on combating performance anxiety.

In addition, university student ambassadors spent time answering our students' questions and taking us on a tour.

This included two large music buildings (including one, 'The Soundhouse', containing 12 large practice rooms and 6 recording studios), the Student Union and several performance venues.  QEGS students were given a real flavour of university life, and many were inspired by it.

The university was very accommodating; it was a great day.
