Nick Butter Talk & Workshop

Nick Butter Visit - Nov 2021

On Friday 12th November we were fortunate enough to welcome Nick Butter into school for a day of inspirational talks and coaching workshops.

Nick is best known as the first person in history to run a marathon in each of the world’s 196 countries, which he did over 674 days from 2018 to 2019. He also sites himself as being a British endurance athlete, adventurer, speaker and bestselling author. Nick holds four world records, and two world firsts.

The school was abuzz with staff and students who had been inspired by Nick in his four speaking sessions. Nicks main message was for students to understand that there is more to life than just making a living, and if you can make a living from what you love then you can really live your life well.

In the afternoon, Nick worked with our GCSE sports studies students who completed a series of threshold training techniques to enhance performance in their running capability.

We as a school body would like to thank the parent's association who funded Nicks visit; I know that our students have really benefitted from his time in school.
