Drama, Art & Music London Trip

Day One
After arriving in London just after lunch, we immediately made our way to the top of London’s highest viewing platform at The Shard. Students spent time taking in the spectacular panoramic views of the city whilst attempting to identify the many historical landmarks. Back on lower ground, we then made a quick stop at the hotel to drop off luggage before heading out for a bite to eat at Hard rock Cafe. Once full, we then made our way to the Gillian Lynne Theatre for our first show: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Students were mesmerized throughout the performance, and all stressed how thoroughly they enjoyed the show. After a long day of travelling and exploring the city, we headed to the hotel for a well-deserved rest before another busy day.

Day Two
After a good night’s sleep, we were up early to enjoy a full English breakfast and make our way to the Tate Modern. Once inside, students were able to explore an inspiring collection of exhibitions that included both contemporary and modern art from a range of countries, cultures and times.
After the Tate Modern, students were given time to explore the popular shopping area of Covent Garden and watch the infamous street performers.  Cold weather and the cobbled streets that were decked with Christmas decorations got us all feeling festive. Luckily, before the cold became too much, we headed over for our final theatre performance: & Juliet. A witty and joyous musical performance which left the students feeling inspired.

Phew! This was a trip packed with activities, but a great time was had by all. The students were thoroughly engaged, and their impeccable behavior was an excellent representation of QEGS.
