Students in Key Stage 3 are taught Citizenship and Careers in a weekly lesson, this includes elements of Digital Citizenship and ICT skills. In addition to this students are taught topics concerned with ‘Well-being’ during a form period – the normal timetable is suspended for one lesson every fortnight. The curriculum is enhanced by regular visits from health professionals, Police Officers and people with expertise in business and industry. These include regular school nurse clinics, presentations from guest speakers, QEGS Alumni, curriculum theme days and drama workshops.

Our courses set out to raise student aspirations by encouraging students to challenge stereotypes and develop the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed choices about:

  • Their health and lifestyle

  • Their environment

  • Their future

  • Their rights and responsibilities
