Who are we?
The association is made up of dedicated parents and staff who work together to raise funds that go to enhance our children’s already excellent education.
There are a number of fundraising and social events that run throughout the academic year. These include the 200 Club, Christmas Fair with grand raffle and auction, and Party in the Park.
We are always looking for new recruits and you will be made to feel extremely welcome. Being a committee member helps you to develop a personal link with your child’s school and you can be involved as much or as little as you can. You don’t have to attend every meeting or event and it is also possible for husbands and wives or partners to take it in turn to attend meetings. Alternately you can just choose to receive emails from the chair and volunteer to help at events if you are unable to attend meetings due to other commitments.
Why do we need a PA?
Please take a couple of minutes to read the year 7 poem by clicking on the thumbnail below.
Unfortunately not everything the school requires can be provided from the school budget, so the PA raises funds to help contribute towards resources and activities.
In the past we have donated £10,000 to the school minibus and £15,000 towards the development of the school sports pavillion.
Following several successful fundraising events we were delighted to be in the position to agree to several requests from various school departments. These included:
A Newspaper Day, alongside Lincoln University, which gives budding journalists the chance to create, write, edit and publish a newspaper.
Publishing short stories for a Year 9 English class in aid of Macmillan.
Purchasing a complete camera kit for Year 12 and 13 Media Studies.
Buying two laptops for the Special Educational Needs Department.
Funding the purchase of 30 large foldaway tables to be used for a plethora of occasions, including training courses, concerts and special events.
Once again, the Mathematics department is incredibly grateful that our annual Mymaths subscription has been covered by the very generous PTA. For those who are unsure; Mymaths is an online learning platform for schools worldwide. The Maths department uses it on an (almost) daily basis to help support students. We are able to use it to set homework, help prepare and deliver lessons, provide revision material during the exam season and set work for any students that are absent from school on a long term basis. We were also able to use it very effectively during the ‘Snow Days’ this winter. Mymaths is a powerful tool that is constantly being updated to reflect any new developments in both teaching and learning in mathematics and our students and teachers rely on it and value it very highly.
Dates for all meetings will be posted on the website and no prior notice of attendance is required - just come along.
