Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School Horncastle

As part of the research task, year 11 students visit 'Wellies Children's Nursery' to find out what type of toys are popular in a nursery environment.

Lower sixth students visit a retailer in order to enhance their AS coursework. They visit the establishment (The Bridal Emporium, Horncastle) to view the premises as part of their research. They then visit again to show the retailer their initial design ideas/development work and finally to show them the final products they have made. The retailer (Karen Barker) has been extremely helpful in offering advice and ideas throughout the development of the product.

Upper sixth students visit a manufacturer in order to enhance their coursework. They visit the establishment (Dianes Fashion and Furnishings in Louth) to view the premises as part of their research. They then visit again to show the retailer their initial design ideas/development work and finally to show them in the final products they have made. The retailer (Diane Hodgson) has been extremely helpful in offering advice and ideas throughout the development of the product.

In order for the students to understand the principle of rotary screen printing and digital printing we visit 'Countryside Art' in Spilsby.

We have also tried the skill of silk screen printing at 'Alison Bell's Workshop' in High Toynton, near Horncastle.
