Headteacher's Commendations Autumn Term

Autumn Term Headteacher’s Commendations were awarded to the following students for their amazing contributions both inside and outside of school.

Lydia Ratcliff - Year 7

Lydia is awarded this Headteacher's Commendation in acknowledgment of her remarkable accomplishments both inside and outside of school. Her exceptional performances in football for Notts County, coupled with her leadership role as captain of the school football team, highlights her outstanding talent and dedication. Beyond her athletic prowess, Lydia sets an inspiring example for her peers through her politeness and strong work ethic, making her a commendable role model within our school community.

Jensen Akerman - Year 7      

Jensen is awarded this Headteacher's Commendation in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments both inside and outside of school. We are thrilled to commend Jensen for his dedication to competitive go kart driving, consistently reaching speeds of up to 67 miles per hour. His remarkable participation in the British Championships and the recent World Finals in Portugal in October is truly commendable. Equally impressive is Jensen's commitment to being a diligent, hardworking, and amiable member of our school community.

Riley McElnea - Year 8
Riley is being awarded the Headteacher's Commendation in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments both inside and outside of school. We are thrilled to be able to congratulate Riley on her tennis achievements where she consistently ranks among the top 30 players nationally in her age group. Despite her demanding tennis training schedule, Riley exhibits remarkable dedication to her academic studies, managing to excel in her schoolwork even when tennis commitments require her absence from school. Her academic report reflects exemplary behaviour and a consistently positive approach to school life. Moreover, Riley actively contributes to the school community by supporting various sports teams, including the Rounders team. As a student who excels both academically and athletically, Riley serves as an inspiring role model for her peers.

Fin Westwood - Year 8          
Fin is being awarded the Headteacher's Commendation in recognition of his remarkable accomplishments both inside and outside of school. As a dedicated member of both Leicester City and the school team, Finn demonstrates outstanding commitment to his sport, balancing rigorous training with commendable academic diligence. His exemplary behaviour, coupled with consistently high performance across all aspects of school life, is reflected in his end-of-term report. Fin truly deserves to be commended for his unwavering dedication to learning and excellence in his chosen sport.

Anjali Sanghi - Year 9
Anjali is being awarded the Headteacher's Commendation in recognition of her outstanding contributions to our school community. Her dedication is evident through active participation in the school choir and a pivotal role in the school pantomime, showcasing her commitment to extracurricular activities. Furthermore, Anjali's exceptional work ethic and academic achievements, consistently reflected in her end-of-term report, highlight her diligence and excellence across all aspects of school life. Anjali's polite demeanour and strong work ethic set a commendable example for her peers, making her an inspiring role model within our school community.

Eren Cooper - Year 11          
Eren is being awarded the Headteacher’s Commendation in recognition of her exceptional contributions to extracurricular activities, notably her stellar performance in the lead role of Beauty and the Beast. Her remarkable growth in confidence, unwavering work ethic, and dedication to rehearsals make her an outstanding role model for both peers and younger students. Eren consistently demonstrates a strong understanding of her lines, delivers compelling characterisations, and attends all rehearsals with a commendable attitude. Her positive outlook, highlighted during the London trip, and her enthusiastic approach to academic studies further solidify her as a standout member of the year group. Eren has truly become a role model to her peers, making her unquestionably deserving of this prestigious award.

Charlotte Evans – Year 11
Charlotte is being awarded the Headteacher's Commendation in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments both inside and outside of school. Notably, Charlotte’s contributions to performing arts is impressive. Amongst others, she assumed a lead role in the production of Beauty and the Beast, delivering a remarkable performance. Charlotte showcased her musical talents by serving as a soloist at the school commemoration service, contributed to the Christmas Choir at Horncastle Church, and participated in the Chamber Choir at the Age UK Christmas Fair. Moreover, she demonstrated her musical prowess at the Royal Albert Hall during the Music for Youth Festival with the Boston Youth Jazz Orchestra. Charlotte's commitment to extracurricular activities is paralleled by her commendable work ethic and amiable demeanour within our school community.

Archie Qualtrough – Year 12
Archie is being awarded the Headteacher's Commendation in recognition of his outstanding achievements both inside and outside of school. His outstanding accomplishments in golf, including participation in the Champion of Champions Golf Invitational event and leading Woodhall Spa Golf Club to victory in various leagues, showcase his dedication and skill. Archie has also consistently represented the school at national level in golf since Y7, this year Archie achieved third place in the Lincolnshire Schools Golf Tournament. Despite his commitment to golf, Archie excels academically and generously mentors younger students, contributing positively to the school community. As a valued member of the sixth form, Archie unquestionably deserves this prestigious award.

Yemisi Akande – Year 12
Yemisi is being awarded the Headteacher's Commendation in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments both inside and outside of school. Yemisi’s outstanding achievements at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games showcase not only her athletic prowess but also her dedication to representing England with excellence. Her remarkable performance in the 100 meters, securing a sixth-place finish with a personal best of 11.6 seconds, and her crucial role in the mixed 4x100-meter relay, earning a silver medal, reflect her commitment and talent on the global stage. Beyond her athletic accomplishments, Yemisi is an invaluable member of our sixth form community. Her willingness to share her time and expertise was evident when she delivered a compelling assembly in celebration of Black History Month, reaching students across all year groups. Additionally, Yemisi's role as a mentor for younger students underscores her commitment to academic support and fostering a positive learning environment. Her active involvement in various school events demonstrates Yemisi's generosity in contributing to the overall school community. As she embarks on a promising future, we commend Yemisi for her remarkable achievements, both in sports and in her impactful contributions to the sixth form and the entire school community.

Elize Dawson – Year 13
Elize is being awarded the Headteacher's Commendation in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments both inside and outside of school. We were delighted that Elize was recognised and published in the Economics Today's newspaper, which commended her outstanding contribution to a photography competition. Her photograph depicting the asylum seeker protest in Scampton, accompanied by a compelling narrative on the economic implications of housing asylum seekers, showcases her depth of understanding and insightful analysis. Beyond her academic achievements, Elize actively enhances the school community, notably through the establishment and leadership of the Sixth Form Committee dedicated to improving the overall student experience for students in the sixth form. Elize is part of the prom committee, a duty prefect and has acted as a subject mentor for Maths. Her enthusiastic participation in various whole school events underscores her selfless commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive school environment.

Jessica Dodwell – Year 13
Jess is being awarded the Headteacher's Commendation in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments both inside and outside of school. In particular, her dedication and leadership during volunteer work in Sri Lanka at the end of year 12 were truly outstanding. Jess contributed significantly to a painting and renovation program at a school and temple, engaged in a community village teaching project, and supported a turtle sanctuary, showcasing her compassion and commitment to making a positive impact. Her return was marked by a passionate sharing of these experiences in school assemblies, inspiring younger students to aspire for impactful endeavours of their own. Furthermore, as Head Prefect, Jess plays a pivotal role in enhancing the school community, actively participating in various whole school events, delivering compelling speeches to visiting parents, and going above and beyond by establishing clubs for younger students. Her roles as a reading mentor, GCSE English subject mentor, and editor for the school newspaper further highlight her selfless dedication and effective contributions. Jess is a valued member of the sixth form, an inspiring role model for her peers and unquestionably deserving of this prestigious award.
