Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School Horncastle

Welcome to Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School and thank you for visiting our website.  I hope that your visit enables you to capture the essence of our vibrant and dynamic school community. As well as being extremely proud of the school’s long history, I am equally impressed with the range of activities our students get involved in. It is a privilege to lead this remarkable school; students who are friendly, ambitious and creative; staff who are dedicated, caring and talented. Our standards are high; we expect every member of the community to aspire to be the best they can be.

Mrs H. Payne, Head Teacher

We send written invitations to parents of pupils aged 11-plus and selected for entry to visit the school on an evening in the second half of the summer term before their child joins us. All parents are invited to visit us one evening each year to discuss their son’s or daughter’s progress with teaching staff. The dates of these events are published and distributed every July for the following academic year.

Parents moving into the area should contact the Headteacher for information, but any parents are always welcome to contact the school if they have a particular matter to discuss. In normal cases it is best to phone, write or email for an appointment – just turning up at school may involve disappointment and frustration if the Headteacher and Deputies are teaching or otherwise unavailable, but an emergency or personal crisis needs – and always receives – immediate attention.
